Concerning COVID-19 March 13, 2020
Dear Brethren in Christ Jesus,
May the Peace of God reign in your hearts!
The Council of Elders in North America, in communion with the Ministry in Brazil, are closely following the global events concerning COVID-19.
By means of this second letter, we wish to affirm that, with the help of God, the Holy Services will continue to be conducted. Nevertheless, for the safety of our brethren, our community, and our families, we have felt the need to take additional precautions that will be effective immediately.
The following services and activities are suspended, until further notice:
● The 2020 General Assembly in Alhambra, CA
● All National Youth Meetings
● The 2020 National Music Meeting scheduled in Newark, NJ
● The N.E Children Instructors Meeting scheduled in Newark, NJ
● All Regional, Sector and Local Meetings
● All Regional & Local Music Rehearsals
● All Music Schools
● Children’s Meetings which happen during the regular services
Also the brethren must comply with the following requirements:
● During regular Holy Services, only the organ and stringed instruments will play hymns.
● As a reminder, brethren are instructed to follow all health recommendations and gathering restrictions placed by all local, state, provincial, and federal authorities.
For the Ministry:
● New requests for Baptisms will continue to be brought to the attention of Elders in each Region for directions.
● Possible suspension of local services will be considered by the presiding Elders of each region.
As the Lord Jesus has taught us, let us remain fervently in prayer, that the Lord will help all nations, peoples and communities during this time of great need upon the earth.
The Lord speaks to us by His Word in Psalms 121 saying, “My help comes from the LORD, which made heaven and earth… The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.”
The Peace of God and the Grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with us all.
